Для достижения поставленной цели инженеры Мазда разработали полностью новую платформу «Skyactiv Scalable Architecture» классической компоновки — с продольным расположением двигателя и основным задним приводом. Эта «тележка» будет использоваться для целого ряда будущих крупных моделей семейства «Large Product Group».
